Emma, do you want to live a life of freedom and adventure? Are you wanting more than the daily grind? Me too. Welcome to the Emma Lovell, show a place where we talk about living a life you love. Now I'm your host, Emma Lovell, and my number one value is freedom. I've spent the last 14 years running a business and traveling the world, and now I take my husband and toddler along for the adventure too. It's possible, and I know you can create a life doing what you truly love as well. This podcast will inspire, motivate and encourage you to go after your dreams, to create a life you love and to live it now, not wait for a time and or someday in the future, I'll be sharing episodes weekly about how I harmonize business travel and self care. I'll also bring on incredible guests to share their journeys, the wins, the challenges, and how they're creating a life they love. Let's jump in and get dreaming. This is a space for you to manifest a life you love. I would like to acknowledge and recognize Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first peoples of this place, now known as Australia. I am grateful for the continuing care of the land, waterways and skies where I work, live, listen, learn and play from here on Yugambeh country and from wherever you are listening, I pay my respects to the elders past and present. Hello and welcome to the podcast. Today I am talking to you all about my book tour. If you didn't know already, I wrote a book. It's called The Art of pleasure, and it's all about how to travel the world, make money and live a life you love now, not one day, not someday in the future, but now. And I'm really trying to encourage people to find ways to include more leisure and travel, or whatever you love to do for leisure in your life, and to not say, find all the reasons why you can't. Let's look at some reasons why we can. So the book is got a bunch of ways to do it, and ways to maximize your time, potentially bring in more income in different ways as well, not just thinking about your work and your job, and just to maybe think about having a different mindset. And I think that's helped me to travel a lot. So what I've been doing as to get this book out there is to have a book tour. So it started with book launches. I had a launch in Sydney and Gold Coast. So Gold Coast came first. The book arrived in my hot little hands on the 21st of August, and then I had an event on the 23rd of August which officially launched the book into the world. And it was really quite surreal. I think all the photos I'm kind of eyes wide open and bewildered, in a way. I think it was quite the journey to get there, and there were a few challenges in the final months leading up to it that I was like, I don't even know if the book's going to arrive on time. You know, am I just going to have to hold up flyers on the night of the book and deliver it another time? I wasn't sure so, but it did arrive on time, and it was wonderful. And then, and the date I chose that one was because of my birthday. So I was like, let's make it a birthday party and a book launch. So I shared. I even forgot on the night, people were like, happy birthday or yay celebrating you. And I'm like, oh yeah. Like, I was so focused on the book. Then my next launch event was in Sydney, so had to have it at business chicks. HQ, I had the first one at Miami Marketa, which is where we also had our wedding reception, and then we had our next one at the business chicks. HQ, so business chicks been a huge part of my business journey, especially in the last four or five years, and so it felt like the right place. It's a beautiful venue. The mezzanine level there, and just the way they've decorated is so wonderful. So it's a great space. And the way that they took care of me, I just got to turn up and the event ran. So that date was the first of September, which inconveniently, was on Father's Day this year. So, but the first of September was an easy date for me to pick, because it was really the anniversary date of my business, and it was actually my 15 years in business. It also happened to be 10 years of being with my husband. I didn't realize that, oh, he's being my boyfriend. The day we met was 10 years before, so that kind of ended up being extra special. And, yeah, never had a party for my birth, for my business? So I'll probably do something every September around the business, because it's nice. It's nice to celebrate each year in business, and to be still be standing, to be honest, and it was just a, you know, it's really hard when you're picking out a 365 days, what day you're going to do? Pick a date that's. Significant for you. So, as I say, very inconveniently, on Father's Day, but people still made it out to support me. It was a wonderful, wonderful group of people, and I felt very grateful. And, you know, really wanted them to be a party and a celebration, and so they were the launchers. And then I always intended to take the book on a tour. So people think I didn't. They were like, you know, going to do other places. And it's like, it's just a lot to get a book published and then to also create events as well. So learnt a lot in terms of, you know, processes and things in the background that could have probably made some things a little bit easier. So taking that into the future is a great thing. And you know, I say if I write another book, but I'm definitely writing another book. We know how to launch it. We've got a roadmap now, which is fantastic. But yeah, I always intended to have events in other cities and other countries around the world. So I then popped in the calendar Melbourne, and Melbourne was the only challenging thing with Melbourne was I just didn't know where to have it. I used to live in Melbourne, but I'm not so familiar with venues these days. So once I kind of had the headspace of finishing the two launches, I was able to say where the next one would be. And thankfully, my colleague and friend and cookie maker and case study from the book Daniel filland suggested the Molly rose brewery. And I was like, looks great. They were great to communicate with. I was like, done, easy. So we had the Melbourne one booked in. But then First I went off to America, to the United States of America to visit my relative. And I thought, well, you know, make lemons out of lemon. No, it wasn't lemons at all. But yeah, make hay while the sun shines. And I decided to have a book tour event over there. So launched my book in America, as you do, and we had a very small, very informal event. About 30 people came, which is so wonderful, considering I don't live in the country to have people come out for me so friends of my dear cousin bills, people I've met over the years, a woman who actually knows Danielle, which was so wild, happens to live in the town where we were having it. But also I managed to get myself on TV, and the head anchor, I do know him, and reached out and said, Hey, I'm coming. Can I come on the morning show of Wi Fi TV? And they were like, Yeah, sure, come on in the morning and we'll promote your event. And they put up on the TV and told people about it. And so a few people did come because we saw it on TV, which is, again, just a crazy, wild thing to have. So I got to be on morning TV in America. Had my event there. I sold books and earrings, and just had some really joyful connections with people who I've known over the years, as well as beautiful Gail, who not only started on TV, but Danielle said, I think you live in the area. Do you want to go along? And so this woman who knows this person from 20 years ago in Australia, came along to the event, and I just everything I wanted, and more from from the book. I'm smiling so much My cheeks hurt at the moment. So then the next one on the agenda. We had the one on Melbourne in Melbourne in October, and the next one is actually tomorrow or today, depending on when you're listening, you might be listening in many weeks to come. So the next one is on the 16th of October. I did plan to record this last week, but, you know, we're getting things done over here, slowly but surely. Just had a few things on, but I'm having the Brisbane launch again. People like, Oh, thank you. I didn't know you were going to come to Brisbane. And it's like, yeah, I always intended so for any of the other capital cities around Australia, don't worry. I'm coming. My goal. My eyes set on Hobart, Tasmania, Perth, WA Darwin, Northern Territory, and Canberra. Of course, Canberra the Australian Capital Territory, but the Australian capital so, of course, I've got to do one there. So they will all come, also to get to some regional areas. So I've been speaking to somebody today, Mudgee, New South Wales. I've been speaking to someone in whoever was I, oh, Cairns, Townsville, female, just going up down the east coast. So, you know, potentially Central Coast might get that one squeezed in at the end of the year. We'll see if we could tee that up. But yeah, definitely, many more events to come. But this year, we have Brisbane 16th of October, and we have Adelaide on the 20th of November, and that's, I think that's going to be me done for this year, because that's been a lot. And we'll start to play. And out next year. But if you're listening, and you have you're in a city or a country around the world, and you want me to come, it doesn't take much to convince me. What I need is a venue, and I need local support with that. I need some, you know, four or five people who could be on board, who can tell the people I've had beautiful people buying tickets today or buying tickets for friends or telling people, and that's what I want. I just want to meet new people, to share the stories, to connect, to network. That's what we're doing there. You know, it's like the first few were probably more family and friends, but also colleagues or people who'd seen me around, and as we tend to go further, it's like I want the book to be an opportunity to start a conversation. I want people to hear about pleasure, to think about how they can apply pleasure, business, combination of business and leisure to their own life, to get more leisure and travel in their world, but thinking about it differently. So I just wanted to start a conversation. And what, what is beautiful is seeing people that I already know connecting with other people that I know, or bringing along new people, and they're more connecting together like it's really nice for me to stand back in the room and to watch those connections happening. I really love bringing people together. I love meeting new people myself and growing my network, but I also love to be a facilitator of that. So that was that's been a wonderful joy to see as well,

Two things about em, she is extremely generous with her knowledge and expertise. And the second thing is that she will hold you accountable long after your in person experience, which is great, if you're not working with them, what the hell are you doing?

So, yeah, Brisbane, at the Rose Room, which is a fabulous thing. 16th of October, the Rose Room, it's beautiful. In fortitude Valley, there's a wall of champagne. There's beautiful pink colors in the room. It's going to be a wonderful night. Surprise to me, my gorgeous biz bestie Jade Warren happened to be doing an event on Wednesday the 16th of October, and is actually going to come, which is incredible. And not only that, she'll obviously take photos and content, as she always does. So that was such a surprise and a delight. I did not know that was happening or expect it, so that was fun. The MC will be the fabulous Danny V who is a speaker and coach. She's a beautiful soul based out of Brisbane, as well doing some incredible leadership coaching and leadership speaking. So be wonderful for her to be the host and the interviewer for the night. And then we've got a lot of wonderful business people coming to attend as well, and just connections. And then, as I said, the next one, which you might actually be able to hear this in time to attend, is 20th of November. We are going to Adelaide. It's going to be at 78 on Rundle, gorgeous, little venue. The MC is the gorgeous Kerry rowett, who is the author of align and attract. Her business, align and attract helps people to find more alignment in their world and in their life. And she is a kinesiologist, and her podcast and her book alone will help you. She's such a powerful presence and energy and such a delight. We've really bonded in the last few months, and she said yes to being my MC. We'll also be hosting some photo shoots while we're down there. So a beautiful client, Miriam, is getting her photoshoot done. So we'll be opening up the doors to have some of those. So we always want to make sure we're maximizing the opportunities when we when I'm traveling, doing the pleasure. So my biz bestie Jade Warren, photographer, video refer content creator, will be coming. Her fabulous, brilliant photographer and assistant, Alison will also be joining so they'll both be at the event, but they'll also be doing the photo shoots, potentially going to throw in a retreat day. So I might just put the feelers out to my Adelaide connections, if that's something, I might just run a workshop retreat day while I'm down there as well, because, but I'm very excited to get back to Adelaide, South Australia. It's such a wonderful part of the world. And yeah. And then we can complete the Australia lab, the Australian capital lab, next year, and then start the regional towns, potentially looking at India next year, potentially some other Asian countries where I'll be having launches, but essentially wherever I go. I want to be having a celebration event. It took me 18 years to get to this point, to get to say that I'm a published author. I'm going to I'm going to ride this way for as long as I can. So again, if you're listening and you want me to come to your city and you're willing to support me in finding helping me find a venue and bring some people along, I will happily, happily travel along to your your city. We might we have been talking to Bundaberg in Queensland. Yeah, there's lots of wonderful places and things that can come up. But officially, the book tour is going to Brisbane 16th of October and Adelaide on the 20th of November. For all the details, you can head to Emma lovell.au forward slash book launch. We've kept that as the domain name, so any events around the book will be on that page. So forward slash book launch.
