01: 27

01: Hello, and welcome to the podcast today the Emma Lovell show. I am very excited to see you here. And I'm really very excited to share a very exciting announcement which I did kind of lead to a few episodes ago, actually announced it on here secretly before announcing it to the world and that is my SriLanka retreat. The next international restaurant receive retreat will be in Sri Lanka, which is an incredible country that I've had the pleasure of visiting twice. And I'm so excited to get back there after more than 10 years. So I was there twice in 2013. And it's amazing to get back there. So let me just tell you a little bit about the retreat. The rest of receive retreat is going to be from the second to the seventh of November 2024. So I know it's almost a year away, it's too far away. But what this retreat does is that it opens the door to incredible opportunities. And it's an all inclusive luxury retreat that's exclusively for people who are ready to attract the work and life that they want. So I'm inviting you to awaken your senses to join me for five inspiring nights in sensational Sri Lanka and want you to disconnect from the day to day and immerse yourself in this exotic culture. While reconnecting with yourself, you can share the experience this luxurious experience with 12 Amazing people from around the world, who you will form amazing connections with and make memories to last a lifetime. That's what we did on this trip. It was incredible.

03: 01

03: So I just got back from India. And so it's really fun to announce it and there was a lot of buzz and excitement after our retreat. And if you want to know all about that one go and have a listen to my rest and receive retreat reflections from from India. I actually didn't get to do one for my kangaroo Valley, really. So I hosted that in Australia, so I'll have to do that one as well. But yeah, I'm really loving this space and focusing on retreats.

03: 31

03: Getting to share it with six amazing people last time and six amazing people already this time, we've had six people sign up within the first week. I've only announced it like last week. So there's only six spots left. So if you are listening and you're interested, please do jump on.

03: 50

03: Let's just have a little look as well at what's included. So if you head to my website which has totally in totally in which is in the link in the show notes. It's Emma lovell.au forward slash Sri Lanka retreat, which is Sr s ri l a n ke r e t r a tea and what you're gonna get is five nights accommodation at two incredible luxurious, amazing properties like I just can't stop looking at the photos I want to get there now. They're so beautiful in candy and Elia neuroma, Elia just beautiful, breathtaking scenery, lush, lush landscapes. And it's just going to be such an incredible experience. I will be there as your business coach and a travel expert. So getting to travel with me, I've been to more than 70 countries around the world. So I am quite the host and I have been in Sri Lanka before, twice so I'm more than happy to share the culture with you and to kind of be the buffer between

04: 58

04: you know, I guess Western call

05: 00

05: altar and new culture, we also will have fabulous guides and drivers who will be there with us to support us. So they're always wonderful to help out. One of the things we're going to be doing is a tuk tuk tour. And you just can't visit South Asia without experiencing the local mode of transport, which is the tooktook or a rickshaw. So we're going we actually in India kind of jumped into the rickshaws and just had a little oops that we had cars, but we wanted to only take out one car. So we took the rickshaw as well. And it was just so fun. They're such a fun transport, like, you feel like they're quite open, you feel really connected to the life around you. The drivers are always so kind and want to share their country with you. So it's really fun. So we'll get going on tour and kind of really, that's going to be day one. So we're really going to engage with the culture straightaway. And ride along getting to know your fellow attendees, which is so nice. All the meals are included. So we'll be having the most incredible delicious Sri Lankan cuisine and continental cuisine. And as one of my dear colleagues, Lindy Alexander pointed out, it is you will get to try.

06: 16

06: You know, whether it's if you're vegetarian, or vegan, or meat eat or whatever, whoo, we'll cover all of it. So it's a wonderful way to experience a quarter to a through the food. We're going to have a workshop every day. So we do five powerful workshops, which are really about reconnecting to who you are. They're about finding out what you actually want in your life. What are your goals? What are your dreams, what's the vision,

06: 42

06: and when you remove all those anchors and connections to home until to life, to what you know, then you're able to open up yourself to the possibilities and the opportunities that are there for you. So

06: 53

06: we do we'll do it even morning, every day or a couple of afternoons depending on the timings. Just a couple of hours together really focused and concentrated. And then the rest of the time is spent soaking in the culture and really getting to kind of reflect on what you've been working on. And the art has and the moments will drop in as you travel around and as you have one on one conversations with other attendees or with me. But yeah, we'll really build on that work over the five days, which is incredible. We're going to visit amazing elephant project in Pinnawala. I've actually been there twice I went because my dad went there years ago and I always wanted to go so then I went to a wedding in 2013. And then so weird, but like three months later, my dad had a conference in Sri Lanka, it goes all around the Asia Pacific. There's 17 Different countries that could be in but no, it was in Sri Lanka The same year. So I went back with him and I supported him on those meetings. He was the Secretariat for the meetings. And yeah, it was in Sri Lanka. So that was in Negombo. When in Colombo Negombo. And then we went to Pinnawala. Together, which was like a dream come true. So to see the elephants, you see them bathing in the river.

08: 08

08: They they're rescued elephants, and they've been taken care of in this big, beautiful environment. So at Pinnawala, there's no writing of the elephants. There's no, yeah, that's not. There are places around the area that have that. And we don't encourage it,

08: 25

08: or engage with that. So we're really there to witness them and to experience them and to just support the organization that's helping, helping protect them, which is fantastic. We're going to go on the most spectacular like one of the top 10 train rides in the world, which is huge. And if you're into transport my dad super into trains my son now too, but

08: 49

08: it's just a wonderful way to travel. One of my clients lives who just went came on the India retreat that did 10 days in Sri Lanka before, she was saying that

08: 59

08: she

09: 02

09: felt like eight hours, eight hours felt like an hour. Like he just couldn't just look out the window and daydream and just enjoy embracing it all. And this is where there's famous photos of people like hanging out the doors as it goes past hatred plantations and over these huge bridges. And if you go to my website, to the SriLanka retreat page, you'll see beautiful photos. It's one of the feature photos that I've used.

09: 25

09: What else we're going to do you get a coaching call before so before the retreat anytime you choose could be within the first month or just the month before just to kind of check in where you're at what you're needing support with and then we can focus on those sorts of intentions on the retreat. You're gonna get incredible relationships, our beautiful group from India, I just can't believe how perfect synergy was between everyone so you're gonna meet

09: 52

09: at least at least six because there's six coming but most likely we're going to wait this is going to sell out so there's going to be 12 Incredible out

10: 00

10: The people apart from myself and the fabulous Jade, who are there to support you. So Jade, the photographer is coming again, photographer, videographer, content creator is going to come in support, again with amazing imagery and content and participate as well, which is lovely. But you'll meet incredible people. That Chapel was coming again.

10: 21

10: I already know lovely people, there's so like, if you're asking if who's it for, we have a personal trainer coming, we have an accountant, we have photographer videographer, we have a teacher slash counselor, psychologist, we have a woman who works in aged care, but she also is a musician. Yeah, amazing, amazing group of people. I'm just looking at my list on the wall of people who potentially Cummings, I can't give them away yet.

10: 47

10: We're going to do an hour of yoga, because we must, whilst we're in this part of the world, and I'm going to send you some little goodies. There can be someone who keeps some goodies. Because what's a retreat without gifts. And that's what I teach as well when you rest you receive. And so we're actually learning to receive the goodness and opportunities that are there for us. So rest, can look however you want it to look, we do have activities planned, but there'll be plenty of spare time and free time to enjoy. But I just really advocate for people, for me rested looks like a swim. It looks like you know, I'm gonna go to the gym today. And then we swim after the swim, it's like the rest.

11: 27

11: You know, walking can be a rest, lying down by the pool can be arrest.

11: 33

11: Having a sleep is obviously arrest. But you know, we're not going away for five days to sleep, we're going away,

11: 39

11: to switch off from the day to day,

11: 42

11: to relax, to experience new things to open our minds. And that can be restful as well, having conversation can be restful, listening can be restful, so there's all different types of rest. So I really encourage you to, to decide what rest looks like for you. And then receiving and you're going to receive an amazing experience receive incredible time away. And all of the things that I've said are included. But you're also going to receive the space and the clarity and the time to think about what you want in your life. And then once you decide on that, then that's when the receiving continues the opportunities that you will receive the things that you'll create.

12: 23

12: Literally, I got back from my retreat, and the day after somebody booked in a coaching call with me for $500. And I was like, I went away, I took this time away, I invested in myself, obviously I ran a retreat, but I also had three weeks away traveling before that, and I stayed on a few days after.

12: 42

12: And then we go, you know, it proved to me that the receiving is still coming. So on the page, I share all about what's included, why you should come, what you're going to get from it, which is clarity, connections and confidence as well as the reef rate, you know, as well as resting, receiving, as I said,

13: 04

13: but I want to talk about who is this for. So who is it for people who are ready to show up in their world, but most importantly, people who are ready to show up for themselves. It's for people who want to remove the overwhelm to get clear on their goals and start taking action. It's for people who are willing to invest in themselves and to give themselves this experience. It's for people who need a break. You need to rest you need some downtime, you need some space, who just need to get away and what better place than across the world. I have a woman coming from Canada which is like my dream come true. I wanted this to be a truly global retreat. So wherever you're listening from if you're in the UK, if you're in India, the USA if you're in South Africa or

13: 45

13: Egypt or you know Germany, Antarctica You're welcome anyone is welcome if you think this is for you. I'm looking for adventurous spirits who want to experience the incredible awakening of the senses in Sri Lanka.

14: 01

14: Working with em is an easy decision to make her generosity and expertise are only surpassed by her absolute 100% Actually 120% investment in you and yourself your success your mindset. I cannot recommend working with him highly enough. Hi, I'm Justin McLean. I worked with Mr. Pre my photoshoot she was so knowledgeable, so supportive and really helped me nail my messaging through pictures. I would highly recommend working with Mr. Shears kind supportive and someone you need on your team.

14: 39

14: I'm looking for people who want to connect with like minded individuals who are also choosing to say yes to themselves. The people who are ready to receive the abundance and opportunities that life has in store for them and people who want to live a life I love now.

14: 55

14: But you know, I think people you know, this is a business retreat, and it's I would say tomorrow

15: 00

15: like personal development as well. So if you're running a business, of course you see that investment. But if you just want to, you know, you could be a business owner, you could be someone in full time employment who's seeking something outside of work. You could be running a side business or a project, or you could be at a crossroads. And this retreat really is for people of all ages and life stages. And I just want you to know that you're welcome. So if any of the things that you have heard there that speak to you, then this could be the invitation and the calling that you need. So on the page, I also share who I am.

15: 39

15: I think what you should know, maybe you will know who I am from listening, but I don't know. So yeah, I'll be hosting it. I'm, I'm a coach. I'm a certified NLP trainer. Sorry. I'm a certified NLP practitioner. I'm not a trainer, I have done the training. I have 14 years of business experience. I've run multiple businesses. I have traveled the world for 18 years. I am a mom to a small human. I am a furbaby Wrangler, to my cat to Charla, I live on the Gold Coast. I'm married to Aquaman, aka Matt, who works at SeaWorld and as a diver. But yeah, really, I am someone who's bringing together business travel and self care. And I think that the ultimate way to do that is retreats. But in my own life, I am showing how you can travel the world. Even when you run a business, even when you have a child, even when you think you don't have enough money, I have been able to travel to the most incredible places and doing the most wonderful things over these past years. Because that's what I value. And that's what's important to me and I prioritize it. So if that's something that's calling you as well, then this might be for you.

16: 54

16: I've included on there, the itinerary and some options. There's also some really great options to extend. So the reason I've chosen Sri Lanka and the reason I'm so close to this part of the world, South Asia is that I partner with an Indian travel company. So I've been going to India since I was 18. Started going to in 2005. I've been there 13 times. I've been to Nepal four times. I've been to Bhutan once and I've been just Sri Lanka twice. So because of this experience in South Asia, I partnered with an Indian travel company called Indus bound. And so I've been partnering with them for the past six years, and I help people to organize and coordinate their trips, people traveling from Australia. So I'm the Australian representative. We have helped people from other countries around the world, but predominantly, I'm the Australian representative. So anyone going through Australia to India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan comes through me. And so, what we have with this, this is that you can book the retreat come on the retreat, and then you can plan an extension before after. So as I said, Liz, she did 10 days in India, Sri Lanka before she came to Kerala, India, so people who didn't get to come to Kerala might want to come to Sri Lanka and then go to Kerala. We had back who went to Delhi and Agra with Christina and I afterwards. So Delhi, Agra, Jaipur is the Golden Triangle of India. And it's kind of the most popular tourist spots, because in our great is the Taj Mahal, so most people go there, you fly in through Delhi in and out of Delhi. And then Jaipur is an incredible city with palaces and it's where all those beautiful jewelry and colorful clothes that you see come from. So it's kind of if you want to get that typical view of India, that's where you go.

18: 43

18: We had then Cairo and her family, family of four, they came along and hung out near us, but

18: 52

18: they kicked on afterwards and went to more places in Kerala. And they also did the Golden Triangle and John poor, which was a phenomenal city. And then we had Ray and his partner Mike and they did

19: 07

19: kicked on afterwards as well. They did the Golden Triangle, but also although I know they didn't go to die poor. They went to order poor Delhi, Agra and Rajastan to try and spot a tiger they didn't get to see one so we'll have to go back but they did have a wonderful safari experience in India. So all of that is possible as well like is this is the gateway and what was lovely is coming into like, either way whether you would extend before or after for leaves, she felt very relaxed and had had a wonderful holiday and chill out before she came to the retreat. So it was really chill. Other people it was really great to have that initial time in in Sri Lanka to have that time in in India and then go on and do more. So whether you want to extend before or after of course going overseas for just a week is quite a long way but if that's all you can take Jade can only come for a week. She made it happen.

20: 00

20: She flew in the day before and she flew in after the day after so I'd have one extra day just in Kerala that's totally possible but it's so many beautiful spots in chalet care. It was hard to choose where we would go but we've got three nights in candy and two nights in neuroma Elia with the Ella train in between, though, see the full itinerary at my website, I don't want to read everything out to you but I just want to say that this could be your time to invest in yourself it could be your time for adventure, a time to rest and receive and I would just love to see you there. I've got a bunch of questions on the bottom like where's SriLanka FAQs? How to get their vaccinations visa? How to extend your time talking to someone. Okay, me before you go. What happens if you want to bring a friend or if you're coming alone? And of course, is it tax deductible for businesses? So all those questions are answered at the bottom. But please, if you have any more questions I always love to hear. And yeah, this is I hope this has piqued your interest and you understand why I'm kind of doing this. I will just chat briefly as well about the first few visits I did so yeah, I and I've written an article which I've included in the show notes as well. I wrote an article for travel bulletin and travel cruise weekly about Sri Lanka, which was really fun. So yeah, my first Yeah, it was really fun. I I call this sensational SriLanka because honestly, it's just a treat for the senses. All of your senses get awakened. You'll feel it, you'll smell it, you'll hear it, you will taste it.

21: 37

21: What are the other expenses? See it?

21: 40

21: Definitely see it. So I was in Colombo for a wedding. And I was there for nine days. And I was at the wedding for seven days. My wonderful friend assim married his beautiful partner and

21: 55

21: it was incredible. She's Pakistani heritage. So just seeing all the different fashions and all the different cultural mix.

22: 03

22: All the different traditions for them. And then my friend, yeah, I see him and his family owned a fashion business and they own a fashion store. So my first day I went and bought some outfits. I had my sari blouse stitched there. They had their own tailor, which was incredible. We stayed at this gorgeous boutique hotel with a bunch of the other friends who I met at other weddings. And it was really nice. Just being Colombo, I did a full day tooktook tour in the city, got to see some of their beautiful temples. There's a lot of Buddhist, there's Buddhist, Muslim,

22: 38

22: Christianity, Catholicism, Hinduism, they will all mix there as well. But Buddhism is one of the main one religions and went to the beautiful temple out on a lake. So arriving for this retreat, you'll really arrive to knock on both the nearest place which will recommend staying it's nearest airport. But if people will do and experience the capital of Colombo, it's a really fascinating city, and was wonderful to get to spend so much time there. And then I did a day trip to Pinnawala dear family friend of my dad and ice because we used to work with him and dad worked with him. Neural, he arranged a car so that I could go to see the elephants in Pinnawala. And so then the next time I went back with dad, just a few months later, we stayed in, in the gumbo. And it was pretty crazy. Obviously, there was the terrible, terrible

23: 31

23: tidal wave

23: 32

23: in us what 2002 That was devastated Sri Lanka, and

23: 40

23: I was there in the Gumbo and there was a storm in in the morning. Just seeing like the storm was crazy, the wind and everything and then seeing all the boats washed up the next day. He just only, I don't know, kind of begin to fathom. The tidal wave obviously operates differently, but it was to see sort of how damaging it can be to an island nation was really incredible to see so lovely to see another part of Sri Lankan gumbo was fantastic. And then I again went to Pinnawala. So yeah, it's my third time I know it's funny, I go back to the same places but why not? i If you love something and you enjoy it, why would you not want to see it again, I'm so excited to see it again. But I'm also very excited to see some different places this time and also do a bit of touring and traveling myself before the retreat starts. So let's see how that plan pans out. I'm at this stage of planning to be in South Asia for about six weeks next year, India, Nepal for a track India for some kind of racking of new places. Sri Lanka for retreat and then India for something else, which we will announce soon.

24: 50

24: There's too much good stuff going on. So anyway, SriLanka retreat. Love to see you ask me any questions. Thank you for listening. Tune in next for
