So thinking about that, but some travel hacks that's fun under you love travel hacks this week came for. Stay with friends. If you have friends and family who doesn't have a friend and a fabulous place, I can some cool place. Like even Adelaide Adelaide is lovely. It's cool place Canberra, I've got friends in Canberra, I've got people in every city in this country. We've got friends, I've stayed with people in so many countries around the world. And due to their hospitality and generosity, I have had experiences beyond my wildest dreams. The best thing as well, not only about saving money, but also you get to have the local experience. When you stay with someone, you get to see the local life, you get to really experience the culture. And so if somebody offers you to come and visit and come and stay, like I've literally one time made money going to America, because I had to pay the flights. But then when I got there, I got gifted money by my family, which is nice, gifted money by my cousin gift money by some people, I didn't pay a dime while I was there, because everybody hosted me and I came back with money. It's like, take those opportunities, while they I have very good friends and family, maybe I just have the best people and get some good friends and family. frequent flyer points. Now I could do a whole talk on this. And I do have a whole podcast episode on it. So please listen to that one. But I was not loyal. For years, people have said you must have so many points. I was not loyal. I just got the cheapest airfare. But since COVID, I must have booked some flights. And I got double status credits. And I acquired silver with velocity. And I looked into it a little bit and I was like, hmm, you can work this and you can make this work. So through family pooling and through booking at status credit doubled, times where it doubles up, I've got to platinum status with velocity, which means I now earn double points, I get lounge access, I get early flight access. My I get upgrades in seats, and we accrue points by shopping at Kohl's flybys we use there, we just buying stuff that we need, just going to the place where we can earn the points, we have credit cards that earn points, we have bank account that earns points we've just found found every way to do what we're doing every day takes a little bit of setup. But we're getting these points. And often my son and my husband are traveling traveling domestically for free, or for $45. So it's really it is worth if you can look into it a little bit and pay little attention. You can get some great perks and minimize your costs so that you can travel more online work doing some online work. And you might already be working online. Like why do you have to do your job at home? If you work on a computer? Like seriously, why do you like who, like COVID proved that we can do it. Like if there was a gift of COVID it proved that what I was already doing for 10 years, everyone else could do too. But for some reason we've sort of gone reverted back straightaway. So and if it's not that, like I said you could do. You could do online surveys. Like you could earn money doing online surveys, you can do a little bit of sub contracting and a different like usual expertise in a different way. There's a lot of ways I'm not saying Quick, get rich quick schemes. It's just you work on a computer, doing whatever, from wherever you are. So finding some form of online work that you can do. book deals book early, like I think that's a given. But honestly, you can just save so much and go so much further. If you pay attention and know where you want to go and booking early. And I was gonna say earlier, I was like, Ah, it's not like I'm always cruising around the world and doing things but I did just book a seven night cruise in Europe. And that's it should have cost us $10,000 But because I booked when it was 60% off and kids stay free. I got it for 5400 for a balcony, which believe me is a bargain. If you're like wow, that's a lot of money like no no. Disney was 5000 for two nights. That's a bargain okay. So book early and book off peak if you don't have kids don't travel in school holidays. Look at the Times look at school holidays don't fly through an airport on a school holiday day. Just look ahead and find those deals and you'll be able to travel more further on your same budget or just work as a travel work in travel and people just think of like I said before, you might think that I'm like an influencer or a secret agent spy or a travel agent but there's so many ways that you can work in travel and you know be paid for it. So you might go and work as a ski instructor or do the tour managing like there are paid to managing roles. People do walking tours in their own city and get paid for them like it's so popular in Europe like there are so many ways that you can find work in travel and make travel the job as well. And so, how to work and travel the world I'm just gonna run through this real quick because I want to get to some questions if you have any and I haven't like overwhelmed you. Sounds obvious I don't love the word budget but Know your numbers, know your numbers in business, in your work in your life, know how much you need to live know how much you need to travel, know how much time and capacity you have, there have been times where I've been so just delue about how much capacity I have to do the work. So know your numbers, know what's possible, and then work it out from there, I love planning out a trip and how much it's going to cost and what it's going to look like. And I get to within a couple of $100 ballpark every time because I sit down and do the numbers. Plan. Planning is everything. My calendar is my best friend, as I said, again, looking ahead, looking at what's on, don't work on a travel day. Like if you're like transiting don't work that day, I've done that it doesn't work. If you do have to deliver some work. So you've got a deadline or a meeting, try to look at where you might be with your travel. So that you're not trying to like recently arrived to Bosnia, where there was no Internet, only Wi Fi didn't check my calendar realized I didn't have a plug, I had a podcast interview that I missed because I didn't have internet and I didn't look at my calendar. So planning ahead going maybe I'm probably going to be in a place where there might not be internet, I probably shouldn't book that person in at that time. Communication is key. So like I said before, my clients have always known where I am, it is no secret. I'm not trying to get away with this. I'm not talking to you about being covert and having a sneaky holidays. I'm talking about having an honest conversation with your employer or your client and saying, Hey, I'm gonna be working from Hawaii, I will be perfectly productive. But after our meeting, I'm jumping in the pool, like it's fine. But just communicate that and then nobody's upset or worried about it. Also communication and discuss discussing your business needs. So I traveled with my husband. And we went on a trip for like seven weeks. And I said, I'm going to work while we're away. And I just discussed the times that I would need to work. And, you know, we had we were in Italy, we were in Rome, and I said it was a great timezone I said, I'm going to work from six or seven till 10 in the morning. I don't care what you do, you can go get coffee, you can stay in bed, playing internet, but I have to work. And then we had the rest of the day to explore and enjoy. And I had made a couple $100 In the morning, $100 in the morning. And doing that every day for 40 days. I'm making $4,000. So it's like just giving me three or four hours a day. You do what you do. And we just discuss it before we go. So he's not mad at me for working he he knew that that's what I needed to do, so that we could be away for seven weeks. Good internet. It's everything. So investing in dongles, investing in good phone plans. Just being aware of when you might or might not have internet just so you're not going to let anyone down. Know your time zones. My business laptop is always set to my home to wear a to the Gold Coast. I use my time app every single day my clock app if you asked me on my phone, my favorite apps, it's my notes and my clock app. Like it helps me so much as it's timing me right now. So those are just some tips if you do want to work and travel the world
