Valerie Khoo: Multi-passionate entrepreneur
A case study from my book, The Art of Bleisure

Valerie Khoo shared in her book, Power Stories: The 8 Stories You MUST Tell to Build an Epic Business, that Jon Bon Jovi was that celebrity for her and she got to interview him during her magazine career.

When I met Valerie in 2012 at the Melbourne Writer’s Group run by Sandi O …, I said to her “you are my Bon Jovi”.

I don’t really look up to celebrities and entertainers as much as I admire and respect business leaders. Valerie is an incredible writer,...

Lindy Alexander: The writer with the dream job

A case study from my book, The Art of Bleisure

When I thought of including case studies in this book, my mind immediately went to Lindy. After following Lindy online for years and marvelling at not only her dream job, but the wisdom she shared, we finally met. Lindy was every bit as generous and knowledgeable in person as she was online. She’s also incredibly humble and down to earth. For someone who has one of the coolest jobs in the world, Lindy keeps it very real and authentic.

It's my birthday & I'm making a wish

It's my birthday and I'll reflect if I want to!

I'm 37 today and so I'm recording an episode. I think it's important to take time each year for reflections and what better milestone then another lap around the sun.

And this year, I'm more grateful than ever for the gift that is getting older. I don't groan or moan about aging. I'm thankful. I'm amazed at what's happened in my 37 years and in awe of what more can come.

I know that not everyone gets the gift and it's something I will not take for granted.

Choices (it's not all roses and sunshine)

24m 9s

The bleisure life is a choice.

And it's not always sunshine and roses, and I would never paint it as only that.

In living the Bleisure life, weigh it up and decide what’s important to you.

For instance, I'm willing to work on my cruise vacation to earn some income. Travelling further, for longer, is more important to me than a few extra hours on a deckchair at the pool.

Everything is a choice. Money versus time versus energy.

In this episode I share some of the choices I've made on this trip, and in my many years of business...

You'll get Matt’s view of the realities behind the glamorous Instagram posts and the lessons we’ve learned along the way.

I needed this as much as they did!

The Rest & Receive Retreat in Northern NSW has just ended, and I'm sharing the breakdown of the experiences we shared there.

The timing of this retreat at first seemed horrible - but in the end I think it was divine timing.

My nephews funeral was the day before. I was exhausted and emotional. I needed to rest as much as my guests did.

But being in service, holding space for them, was the healing I needed too. And in turn, the space they held for me was precious.

This is what...
